Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Brooke Cearley: Valedictorian of the Class of 2024
Brooke is the Class of 2024 Valedictorian of Ballston Spa High School. She has excelled in a rigorous and challenging course load and will receive a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors with Mastery in Mathematics and Science. Brooke began taking high school level courses in middle school which helped her enroll in fifteen college level, AP, IB and honor level courses. Brooke’s cumulative GPA is an outstanding 99.64.
In addition to being the Captain of the Varsity Cheerleading Team, Brooke serves as the President for Tri-M Music Honor Society for the past year. Brooke is also an active clarinet player who was the solo clarinet player for the Area All State Orchestra this year. Additionally, Brooke has played an integral role in coaching youth in the cheerleading program.
Brooke is undecided where she will attend in the fall, and will major in Architecture or BioMedical Engineering. Ballston Spa is confident that Brooke will be successful in her future endeavors due to her empathetic nature, kind heart, leadership skills and determination to succeed.
Julia McKinley: Salutatorian of the Class of 2024
Julia McKinley is the Class of 2024’s Salutatorian of Ballston Spa High School. Julia has sought extremely rigorous coursework and has excelled with natural ability. Julia’s exemplary academic record was propelled by her ability to take high school coursework in middle school, allowing her to take fourteen college level courses. Julia will graduate with a remarkable cumulative GPA of 99.41 and will earn a Regents with Advanced Designation with Honors with Mastery in Mathematics and Science.
Julia is a member of both National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. During the pandemic, Julia volunteered to help preschool teachers record books to send home to families in order to maintain continuity of learning. She is also a member of Interact Club, Science Olympiad, and Captain for the Varsity Swim Team. Julia is a sailing instructor and just received her PADI (paddy) Scuba Certification.
Julia plans to attend Stevens Institute of Technology to earn a degree in Environmental Engineering and will be swimming on their swim team. We know that Julia’s positive attitude, caring nature and dedication will continue to propel her towards a successful future.
